Abstract

Abstract

The development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology has created opportunities to improve the effectiveness of attendance systems in schools. Conventional manual attendance processes have several limitations, including inefficiency, susceptibility to recording errors, and delays in delivering attendance information to parents. This study aims to design and develop an IoT-based student attendance monitoring system by integrating RFID and ESP32-CAM with Telegram notifications for parents. The system utilizes RFID for student identification, ESP32-CAM to capture attendance documentation, and a Telegram Bot to automatically send attendance notifications to parents. The system was developed using the Prototype development method, which consists of requirements analysis, system design, prototype development, testing, and evaluation until the system meets user requirements. The system is also supported by a web-based application used to manage student, teacher, parent, class, and attendance report data. The results show that the proposed system is capable of automatically recording student attendance, displaying attendance data in real time, capturing images during the attendance process, and sending attendance notifications to parents via Telegram. Therefore, the developed system improves the efficiency of the attendance process, facilitates real-time student attendance monitoring, and strengthens communication between schools and parents.
